It was a gorgeous Sunday morning at White Rock Vineyards & Winery. Tidewater DockDogs started off the morning with a fun jump to raise money for the B.A.A.R.K. foundation and the Susan G. Komen foundation. The turn out was pretty good, and the club was proud of the $50.00 that was raised for each charitable foundation.
The club thought we could do more, so we decided to match that $50.00 to Komen and make it $100.00. Well, the folks at Carolina DockDogs caught wind of our generosity and they decided to match our $50.00. The word quickly spread, and by the time the dust settled, the following clubs, teams, or DockDogs organizations had each donated $50.00 to the Susan G. Komen foundation:
Smokey Mountain DockDogs
Team Brody Doggone Awesome
Team Remove Before Flight
Shipp's Corner Sanctioned Training Facility
But we weren't finished. Even with all of these folks matching our fundraising, we had already committed to donate 10% of our merchandise sales to Susan G. Komen, and we kicked it up a notch by selling our last few souvenir competitor shirts to raise money.
All in all Tidewater DockDogs, through the support of our DockDogs friends and the patrons of the wine festival, was able to write a check for $1000.00 and hopefully help find a cure for cancer!
